The Effective Weak Hamiltonian beyond the Leading-logarithm Approximation*

چکیده

The effective nonleptonic weak Hamiltonian is examined beyond the leading-logarithm approximation. In the AS=l, AC=1 part of the Hamiltonian no significant contribution is found. In the AS=l, AC=0 sector coefficients of the "penguin" operators depend strongly on added corrections. The momentum subtraction scheme has been used in the calculation. The independence of the result on the renormalization procedure, as well as on the choice of the renormalization point u is discussed. The quenched generating functional for hadronic weak interactions

The ultraviolet behaviour of the generating functional for hadronic weak interactions with |∆S| = 1, 2 is investigated to one loop for a generic number of flavours and in the quenched approximation. New quenched chiral logarithms generated by the weak interactions can be accounted for via a redefinition of the weak mass term in the ∆S = ±1 weak effective Lagrangian at leading order. Finally, we...

Thermal Schwinger pair production at arbitrary coupling

We calculate the rate of thermal Schwinger pair production at arbitrary coupling in weak external fields. Our calculations are valid independently of many properties of the charged particles produced, in particular their spin and whether they are electric or magnetic. Using the worldline formalism, we calculate the logarithm of the rate to leading order in the weak external field and to all ord...

Effective Hamiltonian for as = 1 Weax Nonleptonic Decays in the Six Quark Model

Strong interaction corrections to the nonleptonic weak interaction Hamiltonian are calculated in the leading logarithmic approximation using quantum chromodynamics. Starting with a six quark theory, the W boson, t quark, b quark, and c quark are successively considered as "heavy" and the effective Hamiltonian calculated. The resulting effective Hamiltonian for strangeness changing nonleptonic d...

Non-perturbative dynamics of hot non-Abelian gauge fields: beyond leading log approximation

Many aspects of high-temperature gauge theories, such as the electroweak baryon number violation rate, color conductivity, and the hard gluon damping rate, have previously been understood only at leading logarithmic order (that is, neglecting effects suppressed only by an inverse logarithm of the gauge coupling). We discuss how to systematically go beyond leading logarithmic order in the analys...

An iterative method for the Hermitian-generalized Hamiltonian solutions to the inverse problem AX=B with a submatrix constraint

In this paper, an iterative method is proposed for solving the matrix inverse problem $AX=B$ for Hermitian-generalized Hamiltonian matrices with a submatrix constraint. By this iterative method, for any initial matrix $A_0$, a solution $A^*$ can be obtained in finite iteration steps in the absence of roundoff errors, and the solution with least norm can be obtained by choosing a special kind of...
